ABOUT JONGHYUN...
Jonghyun was lead vocalist of SHINee. He was born 8th April 1990. He was 27 when he passed 18th December 2017. He was our Bling-Bling, our shining star., a creative genius . He not only had the voice of an angel, but he composed songs for not just SHINee or himself but others. He was a successful solo artist - yes a Poet and a Artist. Jonghyun was an accomplished DJ, for his “Blue Night” radio show for three years from February 3, 2014 until 2 April 2017. He also was a author of a book, Skeleton Flower: Things That Have Been Released And Set Free, and was in the midst of writing his second novel when this devastating loss happened. Oh god I wish I had a time-machine. Could I have made a difference to that fateful evening, oh I wish I could of tried...anyone could of tried to talk to him.
Jonghyun adored his Mom and older sister, Sodam, he was the head of the family when his father left. Jjong would have his sisters picture as his screensaver and was mighty protective of her, He had a little doggy called Roo, a miniature dachshund. She adored him as he did her. His sister Sodam bought her for him as a gift. Roo was the one who inspired Jjong to write his song, 'End of the Day'. He wished that everyone will have someone like her to comfort them.
Our Jonghyun had a heart of pure gold, he cared , yes he cared about others, he took time to reach out and help people with their problems. His quiet, spoken voice soothing his listeners on his nightly radio show.
Jonghyun also cried a lot, he was a soft, emotional soul. he adored his fellow bandmates, and when Taemin, the youngest had his solo concert, Jjong was his fanboy wearing all the concert clothing merchandise and shouting out, 'You're Cool' from the audience.
He participated in the ice bucket challenge, together with CNBLUE’s Lee Jonghyun. He spoke out and supported the LGBT community which he took serious hate from antis over this He was supportive of feminism. He spoke out about bringing a child up in the current society. He was not afraid to speak his feelings.
He was the shortest in the group at 5’9”. Actually I think he may of been slightly shorter, as in 'Young & Rich' 1.73m you can see this was crossed out and he held a card saying 1.71m.
He taught other SM artists how to sing by being their vocal coach, Taemin, his own band mate, EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun and Do Kyungsoo.
Proceeds for the sale of his posthumous album Poet|Artist were donated to SM and Unicef’s Smile for U campaign
This blog is here to remember and celebrate his life.
Still breaks my heart every single time I listen to his songs. I can't even put it into words.
The solace I have is that he is immortal, a person of enduring fame: he will live on through his songs. Jonghyun-ah you made a huge difference to this world. You did so well.
